College Freedom Forum 2024

At the College Freedom Forum hosted at Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala, I shared Hong Kong’s story of resistance, exile, and the struggle for freedom with students and young leaders. Speaking in one of Taiwan’s few remaining allies in Latin America — a region where Beijing is rapidly expanding its influence — underscored how global geopolitics shape the space for advocacy. Beyond telling Hong Kong’s story, the Forum was also a chance to engage directly with the next generation, whose political and moral choices will define how democracies stand against authoritarian expansion.
