Chatham House Panel 2023

At Chatham House, I joined Nathan Law and Prof. Jeff Wasserstrom on a panel chaired by Ben Bland, Director of the Asia-Pacific Programme, to discuss the future of Hong Kong’s democracy movement and its growing diaspora communities. I highlighted the role of overseas grassroots advocacy as an essential path forward — with emerging civil society networks and a stronger Hong Kong identity abroad creating space to counter Beijing’s propaganda and influence, and to sustain the movement from the bottom up.
